## Myth 2: Biomolecular Processing is Too Expensive

Another common misconception is that biomolecular processing is prohibitively expensive. While some advanced techniques and equipment can be costly, the overall cost of biomolecular processing has decreased significantly in recent years due to technological advancements and increased competition.

Furthermore, the benefits of biomolecular processing often outweigh the costs. For example, developing a new drug can be expensive, but the potential health benefits and economic returns can be substantial. Similarly, using bioremediation to clean up a polluted site can be more cost-effective than traditional remediation methods.

Here's a comparison of the cost-effectiveness of two common biomolecular processing techniques:

| Technique | Cost per Sample (Estimate) | Benefits |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Traditional ELISA | $50 - $100 | Relatively inexpensive, widely available |
| Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) | $200 - $500 | Real-time interaction analysis, detailed kinetic and affinity data |

As you can see, while SPR is more expensive per sample, it provides significantly more detailed information, which can be crucial for certain applications.
